Engineering Service Center
The Engineering Service Center provides graduate students, undergraduate & graduate researchers, departments, and TAMU system entities the opportunity to have parts fabricated, welded, 3D printed, laser cut, or a Printed Circuit Board (PCBs).
Note: In order to facilitate the processing of submitted requests, a 13-digit account number will be mandatory, with the applicable rate contingent upon the specific service being requested.
The Fischer EDC team account is to officially register yourself or your team the ability to reserve space or request services from the Fischer EDC. Every Team is required to submit for a new “Team Account” (spaces will not be held over from the prior year). Teams will be given an allotment based on pre-defined criteria of team type/use.
A FEDC technician can help in the fabrication or prototype of your part for the following: Academic request (engineering undergraduate ONLY) or research projects, graduate student work, or Principal Investigator funded research, or departmental requests
All requests through the following link are strictly for sponsored graduate research and departmental researchers who wish to complete fabrication work themselves. A 13 digit departmental account is required to submit and proceed with a self-service request.
All reservations are available for approved members in teams of the Fischer EDC. Teams are allowed to submit a request for specific equipment, storages, or workspaces. Space reservations are ranked on a priority of need to Capstone teams, ENGR labs, then approved FEDC competition teams. Spaces are only held for one academic year.
Space Reservation types: The space reservation options encompass a range of types, including Senior Design workbenches, Link Parking, Open Build areas, Rolling Cabinets, Lockers, and more. Availability of these spaces is determined on a case-by-case basis, with priority given to need and space availability.
